On the table look-up in discriminate analysis

Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 1973
The discriminate analysis problem is discussed briefly. An analytical formulation of the so-called Eppler (Table Look-up) algorithm is given along with a modification which equates the algorithm with the classical Bayes procedure. Simulation results comparing several discriminate analysis techniques are given.

Implementation of dynamic look-up tables

IEE Proceedings - Computers and Digital Techniques, 1994
Look-up tables are used extensively in telecommunications networks in such areas as multiplexing, switching, routing and reassembly. There are also many applications involving look-up tables outside the field of telecommunications, such as electronic dictionaries and database search algorithms. Essentially, look-up tables map sets of input numbers onto

Logic synthesis for a single large look-up table

Proceedings of ICCD '95 International Conference on Computer Design. VLSI in Computers and Processors, 2002
Logic synthesis for look-up tables (LUTs) has received much attention in the past few years, since Xilinx introduced its LUT-based field-programmable gate array (FPGA) architectures. An m-input LUT can implement any Boolean function of up to m inputs.

Generating a power of an operand by a table look-up and a multiplication

Proceedings 13th IEEE Sympsoium on Computer Arithmetic, 2002
An efficient method for generating a power of an operand, i.e., X/sup P/ for an operand X and a given, fixed p, is proposed. The method is applicable to p's in the form of /spl plusmn/2/sup k/ where k is any integer and of /spl plusmn/2/sup k1//spl plusmn/2/sup -(k2)/ where k1 is any integer and k2 is any non negative integer.
