The conservation of 63 Anglo‐Saxon loom‐weights
The Conservator, 1996Abstract A series of sixty three loom‐weights displayed on a wood and plaster base were cleaned and restored. A new base was constructed from modern lightweight materials. The surface of the new base had to be an exact copy of the original plaster support to hold the loom‐weights in the same positions as they were found in when excavated.
