Loops in Loops in Loops

1983
We have been using loops in previous programs without examining them closely. These important creatures really deserve a chapter of their own. Loops can be nested inside of each other, and, when teamed with conditional logic, can make your program fold into itself like an Escher design.

Loop the Loop

Science, 2000
In simpler times, the driving gears of the circa 24-hour circadian clock were thought to consist of positively acting transcription factors that cause transcription of a gene whose protein then fed back to interfere with action of the positive elements and to inhibit its own transcription. Now, Shearman et al . (see

Loop Shifting for Loop Compaction

International Journal of Parallel Programming, 2000
The idea of decomposed software pipelining is to decouple the software pipelining problem into a cyclic scheduling problem without resource constraints and an acyclic scheduling problem with resource constraints. In terms of loop transformation and code motion, the technique can be formulated as a combination of loop shifting and loop compaction.

Jordan loops and loop rings

Publicationes Mathematicae Debrecen, 2008
Summary: Jordan loop rings can exist only in characteristics not relatively prime to 6. In this paper, we show they exist in characteristic 2, give a number of examples of loops with Jordan loop rings and initiate a study of Jordan loops, a class of loops which has hitherto been largely ignored, perhaps for good reason.

To loop or not to loop? CNS-28 is the answer

Immunity, 2023
Regulation of interferon-γ is critical to constrain inflammation and mount effective responses to infection and anti-tumor immunity. In this issue of Immunity, Cui et al. identify a distal silencer element that disrupts promoter-enhancer looping, regulating IFN-γ expression and preventing inappropriate inflammation.

Loop the loop experiments

Physics Education, 2022
Abstract A loop-the-loop experiment is described to show how sliding friction affects motion of the ball. Conservation of energy can be used to explain the basic physics, but significant energy loss is observed in practice and expands the usefulness of this apparatus as a teaching tool.
