Loop antenna measurements

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1956
Experimental measurements on three loop antenna configurations are presented. The technique for obtaining impedance and current distributions using a single-wire transmission line over an image plane is described with particular attention given to the difficulties encountered.

Epidermal Loop Antennas

2017
The Quadruple Loop (QL) antenna was designed and investigated to deliver a robust body-worn antenna for bio-medical applications. The QL antenna is a very thin single-layer groundless structure which allows for the installation of neighboring electronics and sensors on biomedical device.

Folded loop C.P. antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 2001 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37229), 2002
A new type of wire loop antenna has been developed for the production of circular polarization. The antenna was obtained by twisting a one-wavelength square loop with two small gaps at the middle of its two non-radiating sides. The twisted loop antenna can achieve circular polarization with axial ratio less than 1 dB at broadside.

Wire Loop Antennas

2014
This chapter introduces another fundamental antenna configuration: the loop antenna. This simple, inexpensive, and very versatile antenna takes many different forms, such as a rectangle, square, triangle, ellipse, and circle. Because of the simplicity in analysis and construction, the circular loop is the most popular and has received the widest ...

Revisiting Rectangular Loop Antenna

Advanced Science and Technology Letters, 2013
This paper is a study of rectangular wire loop antenna at different side ratios using EZNEC+ v5.0 simulation software. Four wire diameters are considered. The rectangular antenna is configured at two different perimeter lengths. One length was 1-λ long, and the other is resonant length at square configuration.

On polygonal loop antennas

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1980
Several types of polygonal loop antennas are investigated and their fundamental properties demonstrated. For example, a wide range of input impedances can be obtained depending on the shape of the loop. Some loop configurations exhibit a more broad-band property than others. This property is explained by examining the current distributions on the loops

Crossed square loop antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1997. Digest, 2002
The characteristics of the crossed loop structure have been investigated as an antenna and as an antenna and as a scatterer. The problem is formulated in terms of surface integral equation based on the reaction concept. The unknown is the surface current which can be calculated using the method of moments.

The loop antenna

1992
Much has been written about the theory of loop antennas but most of it refers to loops in which the current is constant round the loop and in phase. In practice this applies only to small loops with a single feed or to large loops with a multiplicity of in-phase feeds.

Circularly Polarization Loop Antenna

2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2018
The design and measurements of a wide-band patch antenna with circular polarization are presented. For the proposed antenna, an L-shaped probe is utilized to feed the patch antenna which has square ring and a trapezoid stub. The antenna utilizes a single feed port to realize the right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) radiation of the dual band of ...

Loop Antennas for Aircraft

Proceedings of the IRE, 1943
While the theory of operation and the procedure for measurement are similar for all loop antennas, the electrical and mechanical design of aircraft loop antennas differs considerably from that of the other types. In this paper those characteristics, requirements, and design considerations which are associated uniquely with aircraft loop antennas ...
