On polygonal loop antennas

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1980
Several types of polygonal loop antennas are investigated and their fundamental properties demonstrated. For example, a wide range of input impedances can be obtained depending on the shape of the loop. Some loop configurations exhibit a more broad-band property than others. This property is explained by examining the current distributions on the loops

Crossed square loop antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1997. Digest, 2002
The characteristics of the crossed loop structure have been investigated as an antenna and as an antenna and as a scatterer. The problem is formulated in terms of surface integral equation based on the reaction concept. The unknown is the surface current which can be calculated using the method of moments.

The loop antenna

1992
Much has been written about the theory of loop antennas but most of it refers to loops in which the current is constant round the loop and in phase. In practice this applies only to small loops with a single feed or to large loops with a multiplicity of in-phase feeds.

Circularly Polarization Loop Antenna

2018 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2018
The design and measurements of a wide-band patch antenna with circular polarization are presented. For the proposed antenna, an L-shaped probe is utilized to feed the patch antenna which has square ring and a trapezoid stub. The antenna utilizes a single feed port to realize the right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) radiation of the dual band of ...

Loop Antennas for Aircraft

Proceedings of the IRE, 1943
While the theory of operation and the procedure for measurement are similar for all loop antennas, the electrical and mechanical design of aircraft loop antennas differs considerably from that of the other types. In this paper those characteristics, requirements, and design considerations which are associated uniquely with aircraft loop antennas ...

Wire and Loop Antennas

1988
Wire and loop antennas are widely used in communication systems from low to ultra-high frequencies, either in the form of individual elements or arranged with other similar elements to form phased arrays. They are also frequently used as probes to sense unknown environments or as bases for modeling more complex systems and structures.

Novel Printed Monopole Coupled Loop Antenna

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2008
A novel modified planar monopole coupled loop antenna (MCLA) operating around 440 MHz is proposed. This antenna has the advantage of widening the 10 dB return loss bandwidth (15.3%) by using a mutual electromagnetic coupling effect between a short-circuited half-loop antenna and an open circuited printed arc monopole line.

Tunable loop-loaded printed dipole antenna design

2010 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2010
Compact multi-function antennas play a major role in today's communication systems where size, weight, power consumption and cost are the main limiting factors in designing integrated transmitter/receiver circuitry. In this view, electronically reconfigurable printed antennas were previously considered to achieve multi-band applications [1–4].

The Circular Loop Antenna

1971
The circular loop antenna consists of a ring of radius b made of highly conducting metal with circular cross section of radius a ≪ b. It is driven at Φ = 0 by a delta-function generator with voltage V, as shown in Fig. 4.1. It is assumed that the loop is electrically thin so that |ka| ≪ 1, where k = β - jα, as defined in (1.6), is the complex wave ...

Loop loaded wire antenna

2008 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2008
In automatic meter reading (AMR) systems, one embodiment of the prior art comprises: the PCB, the battery and the antenna are held together in a short plastic tube and encapsulated. The antenna and the unit is then put into a metal walled, metal or plastic covered pit, where the antenna part is at the level of the ground plane and slightly lift above ...
