Loop filter optimisation for delay lock loops

The 13th IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2003
In this paper, we investigate the optimisation of the loop filter for delay tracking loops in direct sequence spread spectrum systems. We search for a good trade-off between reducing noise effects and having a sufficiently reactive loop. This study is done on both the initial tracking phase, where the loop must compensate acquisition errors, and the ...

Shearlet-based Loop Filter

2018 26th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2018
In video coding, in-loop filtering has attracted attention due to its increasing coding performances. In this paper the shearlet-based loop filter is proposed using a sparsifying transform, the shearlet transform, which can identify the important structures of natural images such as edges in the sparse transform domain.

In-Loop Filter

2014
This chapter provides an introduction to in-loop filters in AVS-2. The first part presents the characteristic of compression artifacts caused by block-based video coding methods, the necessity of in-loop filtering to improve video coding efficiency and the quality of compressed videos.

A novel microstrip loop filter

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2005
Conventional loop filters often have large areas that are not fully utilized. To alleviate this problem, a novel elliptic-microstrip loop filter centered at 6.65 GHz and with a fractional bandwidth of 23% is proposed. The fabricated filter has a measured insertion loss of about 1.5 dB and a 0.6-dB ripple. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Loop filter approximations for PLLs

2008 51st Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2008
Phase Noise Frequency response in a Phase Locked Loop cannot be freely determined, since it is constrained by the Loop structure and the Loop Filter (LF) shape. Therefore, Filter Approximation Theory is of no use in this case. However, we show in this paper that some general relations can be established between the Loop Filter, Loop Gain, and Phase ...

Improvements of Microstrip Loop Filters

2007 International Workshop on Anti-Counterfeiting, Security and Identification (ASID), 2007
A miniaturized microstrip open-loop filter with dual-mode and defected ground structure is presented in this paper. The proposed filter has the characteristics of wide stopband, reduced size, and high selectivity. The combination of dual-mode and defected ground structure successfully eliminates the nearest two spurious harmonics.

In-Loop Filtering

2014
In the processing flow of the hybrid video coding scheme, in-loop filtering is applied after prediction and reconstruction of the coding blocks. The filtered reconstructed picture is stored in the decoded picture buffer for output and for prediction if indicated. In HEVC, two consecutive in-loop filters are specified.
