High performance loop filter for HEVC
2015 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2015In this paper, an efficient loop filter is proposed to restore the decoded frame for HEVC. The loop filtering problem is modeled as an inverse problem and solved by maximum a posteriori estimation. By modeling non-local block similarity into the MRF prior, the proposed filter can be efficiently derived by solving an optimization problem.

Multilayer microstrip loop directional filter
Proceedings of the 2003 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference - IMOC 2003. (Cat. No.03TH8678), 2004A three-section loop directional filter on duroid-alumina substrates is successfully designed for a 3.5% bandwidth at 6 GHz with less than 4 dB insertion loss. It is seen that compact filters with steep roll-off and low insertion loss can be obtained with the multilayer approach.

CUDA Acceleration for AVS2 Loop Filtering
2016 IEEE Second International Conference on Multimedia Big Data (BigMM), 2016Parallel computing platforms integrating CPU cores and mass of GPU accelerators have established in several application domains, obtaining remarkable time saving. In this way, video decoders can exploit a broader design space, to take full advantages of the hybrid GPU and CPU computing framework. Several novel contributions that aim at the exploitation

2014
The HEVC standard specifies two in-loop filters, a deblocking filter and a sample adaptive offset (SAO). The in-loop filters are applied in the encoding and decoding loops, after the inverse quantization and before saving the picture in the decoded picture buffer. The deblocking filter is applied first.

Adaptive loop filter with temporal prediction
2012 Picture Coding Symposium, 2012In this paper, we propose a method to improve adaptive loop filter (ALF) efficiency with temporal prediction. For one frame, two sets of adaptive loop filter parameters are adaptively selected by rate distortion optimization. The first set of ALF parameters is estimated by minimizing the mean square error between the original frame and the current ...

Adaptive Loop Filtering for Video Coding
IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing, 2013Adaptive loop filtering for video coding is to minimize the mean square error between original samples and decoded samples by using Wiener-based adaptive filter. The proposed ALF is located at the last processing stage for each picture and can be regarded as a tool to catch and fix artifacts from previous stages.

Tunable Filters and Filter Frequency Automatic Control Loop
2014Tunable filters are also one of the most popular applications for the RF tunable devices at present. We may find many articles and papers talking about different architecture tunable filters based on using the RF tunable devices, such as references [1–15]. The devices used in the filters usually need their Q factor very high, and the tunable filters in

A digital loop filter for a Phase Locked Loop
2011 17th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 2011Modern digital telecommunication and audio systems include a Digital Phase Locked Loop (D-PLL) in a form of a device or an algorithm. Wireless infrastructure, broadband wire-line networks and high end audio systems require very high performance PLLs.

Tracking-Loop Bias Due to Costas Loop Arm Filter Imbalance
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1982An expression is derived which shows that when the bandpass filter preceding a Costas loop is not symmetric and the arm filters are not balanced, a static phase error, which becomes larger as the SNR decreases, can occur due to noise. Conversely, if either condition does not apply, then no noise-induced phase error bias will exist.

Unified Loop Filter for Video Compression
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2010This letter proposes a unified loop filter for video coding, which suppresses the quantization noise optimally and improves the objective and subjective qualities of the reconstructed picture simultaneously. The proposed filter unifies nonlinear enhancement filter and linear restoration filter within the classical optimization framework of least mean ...
