Choice of connection in loop quantum gravity [PDF]
We investigate the quantum area operator in the loop approach based on the Lorentz covariant hamiltonian formulation of general relativity. We show that there exists a two-parameter family of Lorentz connections giving rise to Wilson lines which are eigenstates of the area operator. For each connection the area spectrum is evaluated. In particular, the

Symmetry Reduction of Loop Quantum Gravity
The relation between standard Loop Quantum Cosmology and full Loop Quantum Gravity fails already at the first nontrivial step: The configuration space of Loop Quantum Cosmology can not be embedded into the configuration space of full Loop Quantum Gravity

Abstract This article analyses how regulatory and governance frameworks influence the implementation of smart waste strategies in the context of the EU's circular and digital transitions. Focusing on Spain and Portugal—two EU Member States subject to shared supranational obligations but marked by divergent legal traditions and administrative structures—

Intersecting Quantum Gravity with Noncommutative Geometry - a Review
We review applications of noncommutative geometry in canonical quantum gravity. First, we show that the framework of loop quantum gravity includes natural noncommutative structures which have, hitherto, not been explored.

The picture of the Bianchi I model via gauge fixing in Loop Quantum Gravity
The implications of the SU(2) gauge fixing associated with the choice of invariant triads in Loop Quantum Cosmology are discussed for a Bianchi I model.

Abstract Pedro de Ayala served as a diplomat for King Ferdinand II of Aragon and Queen Isabella I of Castile at the courts of Henry VII, King of England, and James IV, King of Scots. In July 1498, he wrote a letter, partly in cipher, to report to his king and queen on such matters as Spain's interests in international diplomacy; the characters and ...

Lessons from Toy-Models for the Dynamics of Loop Quantum Gravity
We review some approaches to the Hamiltonian dynamics of (loop) quantum gravity, the main issues being the regularization of the Hamiltonian and the continuum limit.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Quantum isolated horizons and black hole entropy
We give a short introduction to the approaches currently used to describe black holes in loop quantum gravity. We will concentrate on the classical issues related to the modeling of black holes as isolated horizons, give a short discussion of their ...

This review surveys eukaryotic cilia as putative quantum‐enabled sensory and regulatory centers. It highlights their multifaceted roles in the cell, focuses on the nontrivial roles of quantum mechanics in their membrane and cytoskeletal proteins, and introduces the essential building blocks enabling quantum properties to survive in the warm, wet, and ...
