Entropic motion in loop quantum gravity [PDF]
Entropic forces result from an increase of the entropy of a thermodynamical physical system. It has been proposed that gravity is such a phenomenon and many articles have appeared in the literature concerning this problem. We propose a method that may reproduce an entropic force and may be related to loop quantum gravity.

Liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) filaments are fabricated through extrusion with in‐process UV curing, enabling controlled flow alignment and network locking of mesogens. The resulting structure responds to thermal or optical stimuli, inducing molecular reorientation and macroscopic contraction.

Stress‐Adaptive Biomaterials With Tunable Yielding Architectures Regulate Organoid Morphogenesis
Granular hydrogels are developed to tune the yield stress levels at which 3D tissue culture matrices undergo plastic deformation. We use these materials to regulate growth‐induced stresses, with demonstrable effects on cancer spheroid invasion and brain organoid morphogenesis.

Choice of connection in loop quantum gravity [PDF]
We investigate the quantum area operator in the loop approach based on the Lorentz covariant hamiltonian formulation of general relativity. We show that there exists a two-parameter family of Lorentz connections giving rise to Wilson lines which are eigenstates of the area operator. For each connection the area spectrum is evaluated. In particular, the

Hot Injection Synthesis of Ultrathin Bi2Se3 Nanosheets With Controllable Dimensions
Graphic of hot‐injection method for synthesizing Bi2Se3${\rm Bi}_2{\rm Se}_3$ nanoplatelets of controlled shape, thickness, and lateral size. The ultra‐thin regime is achievable, which is interesting for studying topological phase transitions. ABSTRACT In this work, a synthesis method for colloidal nanoplatelets (NPLs) of the topological insulator ...

Intersecting Quantum Gravity with Noncommutative Geometry - a Review
We review applications of noncommutative geometry in canonical quantum gravity. First, we show that the framework of loop quantum gravity includes natural noncommutative structures which have, hitherto, not been explored.

Abstract This essay, designed as a complement to opinions expressed by Rowan Williams and some speakers at the conference in his honour, explores features of early Christianity which suggest a positive evaluation of artificial intelligence. Noting that the fear of reducing humans to machines has been joined in the modern age by the fear that machines ...

Phase transition in loop quantum gravity [PDF]
We point out that with a specific counting of states loop quantum gravity implies that black holes perform a phase transition at a certain characteristic temperature $T_C$. In this phase transition the punctures of the spin network on the stretched horizon of the black hole jump, in effect, from the vacuum to the excited states.
