An Analysis of the Pull-Out Strength of 6 Suture Loop Configurations in Flexor Tendons
Journal of Hand Surgery, 2012New, stronger suture materials have been introduced for flexor tendon surgery. The advantage of these materials can be lost if the suture loop pulls out from the tendon. The aim of this study was to compare the ability of various locking loops to grip the tendon. We inserted 4 different standard and 2 experimental locking loops with 200-μm nitinol wire ...

Initial Loop and Knot Security of Arthroscopic Knots Using High-Strength Sutures
Arthroscopy - Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery, 2007Purpose There are many options for arthroscopic knots including the type of knot and suture material used. The current investigation evaluated knot properties using 3 high‐strength suture materials tied in 5 common arthroscopic knot configurations ...

The Effect of Locking Loops on the Strength of Tendon Repair
Journal of Hand Surgery, 1991A multiple X-raying method has been developed which allows examination of how the particular features of suturing techniques collapse or pull out of the tendon during tensile testing. This technique was used to examine the locking loop tendon sutures, such as the modified Kessler, Verdan and Ketchum techniques.

Loop strength of spun collagen fibers
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1996The effects of gultaraldehyde (GA) crosslinking, basic chromium sulfate (Cr) tanning, and thermal treatments on the loop strength of spun collagen fibers were studied. The loop test have been carried out using a piano wire as a model loop. The promotion of GA crosslinking led a significant decrease of the strength and elongation at break.

Quantifying the strength of the linear causal coupling in closed loop interacting cardiovascular variability signals [PDF]
The coherence function measures the amount of correlation between two signals x and y as a function of the frequency, independently of their causal relationships.

High strength wastewater treatment in a jet loop membrane bioreactor: kinetics and performance evaluation [PDF]
Treatment of wastewater containing high organic matter was investigated by means of a jet loop bioreactor combined with a membrane process. Volume of jet loop bioreactor and area of membrane filtration unit were 231 and 155 cm 2 respectively.

Effect of gauge length on loop strength of sewing threads
The Journal of The Textile Institute, 2018AbstractSeam strength prediction using loop strength has been found to be more accurate and has been consistently used by researchers over last few decades. But the testing gauge length for loop strength has not been standardized as in the case of thread tensile strength.

The sink strength of dislocation loops and their growth in irradiated materials
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1979Abstract The sink strength of a circular dislocation loop is obtained for use in the rate theory model of microstructure evolution in irradiated materials. The dependence on loop size is obtained using the embedding procedure in the effective rate theory continuum. It is shown that the sink strength increases with increasing loop size.

Size 3–0 polydioxanone was used as a single strand, single braid (3 strands), or double braid (6 strands) to create six suture material‐pattern combinations for equine tenorrhaphy: single‐strand locking loop, single‐braid locking loop, double‐braid locking loop, single‐strand three‐loop pulley, single‐braid three‐loop pulley, and double‐braid three ...

Analysis Interaction Field Strength and Spectrum from Microhysteresis Loops
MRS Proceedings, 2007ABSTRACTIn this paper, we present a direct method to analyze the mechanism of magnetic domain reversal for a series of amorphous Dyx(FeCo)1-x magnetic thin films and whereby we obtained the distributions of the coercivities and interaction fields from 90,000 measurements of the microhysteresis loops.
