Aspects of phase-space noncommutative quantum mechanics
In this work some issues in the context of Noncommutative Quantum Mechanics (NCQM) are addressed. The main focus is on finding whether symmetries present in Quantum Mechanics still hold in the phase-space noncommutative version. In particular, the issues

Optical cavity tests of Lorentz invariance for the electron
A hypothetical violation of Lorentz invariance in the electrons' equation of motion (expressed within the Lorentz-violating extension of the standard model) leads to a change of the geometry of crystals and thus shifts the resonance frequency of an ...

The BRST invariant Lagrangian of the gravitationally interacting U(1)$U(1)$ gauge theory, namely the Quantum GraviElectro Dynamics (QGED). The Yan–Mills theory with the Hilbert–Einstein gravitational Lagrangian, namely the Yang–Mills–Utiyama (YMU) theory, is defined and quantised using the standard procedure. The theory is perturbatively renormalisable,

Probing Lorentz invariance violation with neutrino factories [PDF]
In this article we show the modification in the number of neutrino events ($ _ +\bar _ $) caused by Lorentz Invariant Violation (LIV), $ =5\times 10^{-24}$ and $10^{-23}$, in neutrino oscillation for a neutrino factory at a distance of 7500 km. The momentum of the muons can vary from 10-50 GeV and we consider $2\times 10^{20}$ decays per year. The

We examine what the absorbed spectra of extra-galactic TeV gamma-ray sources, such as blazars, would look like in the presence of Lorentz invariance violation (LIV).

Model-independent Constraints on Lorentz Invariance Violation: Implication from Updated Gamma-Ray Burst Observations [PDF]
Astrophysical observations provide a unique opportunity to test possible signatures of Lorentz invariance violation (LIV), due to the high energies and long distances involved.

Reversal Asymmetry of Reciprocal Metasurface Enables Ultra‐Compact Varifocal Reflective Lens
The possibility of breaking the reversal symmetry of a lens without violating reciprocity is demonstrated. The freedom provided is utilized to realize an ultra‐compact reflective varifocal lens‐doublet based on a flat metasurface lens and a piezoelectric actuated micromirror.

Neutrino Oscillations from Strings and Other Funny Things [PDF]
I will discuss three related unconventional ways to generate neutrino oscillations (1)Equivalence principle violation by the string dilaton field (i2)Violation of Lorentz Invariance and (3) Equivalence principle violation through a non-universal tensor ...

Abstract We incorporate field line curvature (FLC) scattering into a kinetic ring current model two‐way coupled with a global magnetospheric MHD model to investigate its role in SYM‐H prediction and global magnetospheric dynamics. FLC scattering reduces plasma pressure in regions where the ion gyroradius is comparable to the local FLC radius.
