Differential cohomology and locally covariant quantum field theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study differential cohomology on categories of globally hyperbolic Lorentzian manifolds. The Lorentzian metric allows us to define a natural transformation whose kernel generalizes Maxwell's equations and fits into a restriction of the fundamental ...

Spatially isotropic homogeneous spacetimes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We classify simply-connected homogeneous (D +1)-dimensional spacetimes for kinematical and aristotelian Lie groups with D-dimensional space isotropy for all D ≥ 0.

Towards (3+1) gravity through Drinfel'd doubles with cosmological constant

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2015
We present the generalisation to (3+1) dimensions of a quantum deformation of the (2+1) (Anti)-de Sitter and Poincaré Lie algebras that is compatible with the conditions imposed by the Chern–Simons formulation of (2+1) gravity.

Geometry applications of irreducible representations of Lie Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this note we give proofs of the following three algebraic facts which have applications in the theory of holonomy groups and homogeneous spaces: Any irreducibly acting connected subgroup $G \subset Gl(n,\rr)$ is closed.

Groups of basic automorphisms of chaotic Cartan foliations with Eresmann connection [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Прикладная нелинейная динамика
The purpose of the work is to study the groups of basic automorphisms of chaotic Cartan foliations with Ehresmann connection. Cartan foliations form a category where automorphisms preserve not only the foliation, but also its transverse Cartan geometry ...

The isometry groups of Lorentzian three-dimensional unimodular simply connected Lie groups

open access: yesRevista de la Unión Matemática Argentina, 2022
In this paper, the authors determine the full isometry groups of all three-dimensional unimodular Lie groups endowed with a left invariant Lorentzian metric. One of the consequences of their result is that, in some cases, the isometry group is bigger than the subgroup of automorphisms that preserve the metric.

Supergravity vacua and lorentzian Lie groups

open access: yes, 2003
We classify maximally supersymmetric backgrounds (vacua) of chiral (1,0) and (2,0) supergravities in six dimensions and, by reduction, also those of the minimal N=2 supergravity in five dimensions. Up to R-symmetry, the (2,0) vacua are in one-to-one correspondence with (1,0) vacua, and these in turn are locally isometric to Lie groups admitting a bi ...

Parallelisable Heterotic Backgrounds

open access: yes, 2003
We classify the simply-connected supersymmetric parallelisable backgrounds of heterotic supergravity. They are all given by parallelised Lie groups admitting a bi-invariant lorentzian metric.

Affine Algebraic Ricci Solitons Associated to the Yano Connections on Three-Dimensional Lorentzian Lie Groups

open access: yesJournal of Nonlinear Mathematical Physics
In this paper, we compute curvatures of Yano connections on three-dimensional Lorentzian Lie groups with some product structure. We define affine algebraic Ricci solitons associated to Yano connections and classify left-invariant affine algebraic Ricci ...

Penrose limits of Lie Branes and a Nappi--Witten braneworld

open access: yes, 2003
Departing from the observation that the Penrose limit of AdS_3 x S^3 is a group contraction in the sense of Inonu and Wigner, we explore the relation between the symmetric D-branes of AdS_3 x S^3 and those of its Penrose limit, a six-dimensional ...
