LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Macroeconomics determinants of loss given default

open access: yes, 2015

Data‐Driven Materials Science for Energy‐Sustainable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Data‐driven approaches powered by artificial intelligence are transforming materials discovery for energy sustainability. This review examines how auto‐generated high‐quality materials databases and domain‐specific language models accelerate research in photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, batteries and magnetic materials. Applications involve extraction of

Immediate Organic Room‐Temperature Phosphorescence in Programmable Luminescent Tags Enabled by Oxygen‐Free Fabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Programmable luminescent tags based on organic room‐temperature phosphorescence are shown to be governed by oxygen incorporation during fabrication. Oxygen‐free processing enables immediate phosphorescence activation, controlled thermal preconditioning, and tunable activation doses.

Laser‐Induced Local De‐Doping in Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The polymer PBTTT‐C14 doped with the small molecule acceptor F4TCNQ is considered as a benchmark material system. Mask‐free, microscale patterning of the doping level via laser‐induced heating and sublimation of dopant molecules is shown. Controlling laser irradiance and swath spacing allows dopant level control with laser‐limited resolution, opening ...

Credit Risk, Default Loss, and the Economics of Bankruptcy [PDF]

open access: yes
The negotiating strategies of parties to a corporate bankruptcy are shaped by the rules and procedures of bankruptcy law. The rules have an asymmetric impact on the debtor and its creditors.

Implied market loss given default [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis focuses on the key credit risk parameter - Loss Given Default (LGD). We describe its general properties and determinants with respect to seniority of debt, characteristics of debtors or macroeconomic conditions, and discuss its role in Basel ...

Wavelength‐Multiplexed 2D Beam Steering via a Passive Diffractive Network

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Illustration of a wavelength‐multiplexed diffractive beam steering system, which is composed of K cascaded diffractive layers, each containing phase‐modulating elements that are jointly optimized using deep learning–based optimization. When illuminated with a set of wavelengths {λ1,λ2,…,λNw}$\{ {{{\lambda }_1},{{\lambda }_2},\ldots ,{{\lambda }_{{{N}_w}

Collections policy comparison in LGD modelling

open access: yes, 2009
This paper discusses the similarities and the differences in the collection process between in house and 3rd Party collection. The objective is to show that although the same type of modelling approach to estimating Loss Given Default (LGD) can be used ...
