Reduction of apparent water losses

International Conference “Environmental Engineering”, 2017
The water loss levels are very different between European countries as water loss varies from 7% to 50%. According to data from the Lithuanian Water Supply Association, in 2015 about 124 mln. m³ of ground water was supplied to the network, but only 94 mln. m³ of it was sold, while the remaining share represented water losses – 30 mln. m³ per year.

Loss reduction in antenna for with feedline

2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT), 2015
This paper presents modified patch antenna for 3 GHz operating frequency. Here different approaches are studied by changing feed position. Simulation is done using IE3D software for various parameters. Return loss of final design was - 26.43 dB for 3 GHz frequency and VSWR of 1.10 over −12.10dB of conventional design.

Loss reduction in optical fibers

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1980
Abstract To reduce the loss of optical fibers to the minimum possible value, the manufacturer must have an accurate estimate of that value together with an understanding of the mechanisms that raise fiber loss above that value. In this paper we separate fiber loss into its absorption and scattering components, present estimates of the minimum ...

THE HIGHWAY: OPTIONS FOR LOSS REDUCTION

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1970
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Approximately 36% of the deaths and injuries on our highways result from single vehicle accidents. These accidents involve vehicles running off the road, overturning, or striking some fixed object such as bridge piers, retaining walls and abutments, sign posts, lightpoles, trees, guardrails, utility poles, etc ...

Feeder reconfiguration for loss reduction

2016
Distribution networks are generally built as meshed networks, while they are operated radially. Their configurations may be varied with manual or automatic switching operations so that all of the loads are supplied and reduce power loss, increase system security, and enhance power quality.

Reduction of losses at boar cryptorchism

Reduction of Food Loss and Waste

2020
In his Encyclical Laudato si', Pope Francis calls to overcome the "throwaway culture". A representation of this culture is food waste. Food losses and waste have serious moral repercussions, in view of the prevailing hunger and lack of access to healthy diets by 2 billion people, and due to greenhouse gas emissions from food loss and waste. This volume

Guidance for water loss reduction

2011

Reduction of Dielectric Loss in Polyethylene

Journal of Applied Physics, 1964
A mechanism contributing to the dielectric loss at 55.2 Gc/sec in highly crystalline polyethylene has been identified. The manufacturing process introduces imperfections in the form of vinyl unsaturation which can orient in the presence of a microwave field.
