Lossless and near-lossless compression of EEG signals

Lossless and Near-Lossless Compression for Mammographic Digital Images

In this paper, a method for lossless and near lossless compression of large digital mammograms is proposed. This method is based on a predictive coder that uses integer-to-integer operations, and generates a two-layer embedded bit stream (i.e. near-lossless and refinement layer). Lossless light projection

A new technique for energy-preserving phase-only light projection is demonstrated. The phase-only encoding is based on an extension of the Zernike phase-contrast method into the domain of full-range [0; 2pi ] phase modulation, breaking the usual small-phase-angle limitation.

Context Adaptive Lossless and Near-Lossless Coding for Digital Angiographies

This paper presents a context adaptive coding method for image sequences in hemodynamics. The proposed method implements motion compensation through of a two-stage context adaptive linear predictor. It is robust to the local intensity changes and the noise that often degrades these image sequences, and provides lossless and near-lossless quality.

Conditions for lossless join

There is a well-known algorithm for determining when a decomposition of a database relation scheme has a lossless join with respect to a set of functional dependencies. We first present a reformulation of this algorithm in terms of set closures. For the special case of m=2, there is a well-known explicit condition for losslessness.

Lossless ECG encoding

We have studied the lossless encoding of ECG signals. With suitable code we aim to reduce the storage space needed by ECG signals. Several methods designed for ECG compression use lossy, i.e. irreversible techniques, in which the original signal is lost, but the restored approximation is almost equal to the original.

Lossless Reduction of Datacubes

Datacubes are specially useful for answering efficiently queries on data warehouses. Nevertheless the amount of generated aggregated data is incomparably more voluminous than the initial data which is itself very large.
