Lossless compression of VLSI layout image data [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2006
We present a novel lossless compression algorithm called Context Copy Combinatorial Code (C4), which integrates the advantages of two very disparate compression techniques: context-based modeling and Lempel-Ziv (LZ) style copying. While the algorithm can be applied to many lossless compression applications, such as document image compression, our ...

Lossless Compression Of Images Using Logic Minimization [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 3rd IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
A novel approach for the lossless compression of images is presented. After preprocessing, the image is split into bit planes which are then divided into smaller blocks. Mixed blocks are converted to Boolean switching functions and then subjected to minimization to arrive at a compact representation, leading to possible data compression.

A Reversible Data Hiding Method in Encrypted Images for Controlling Trade-Off between Hiding Capacity and Compression Efficiency

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2021
In this paper, we propose a new framework for reversible data hiding in encrypted images, where both the hiding capacity and lossless compression efficiency are flexibly controlled.

Practical Full Resolution Learned Lossless Image Compression

open access: yes, 2019
We propose the first practical learned lossless image compression system, L3C, and show that it outperforms the popular engineered codecs, PNG, WebP and JPEG 2000.

Lossless Image Compression via Predictive Coding of Discrete Radon Projections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
International audienceThis paper investigates predictive coding methods to compress images represented in the Radon domain as a set of projections. Both the correlation within and between discrete Radon projections at similar angles can be exploited to ...

Three-Dimensional Adaptive Image Compression Concept for Medical Imaging: Application to Computed Tomography Angiography for Peripheral Arteries

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease, 2022
Advances in computed tomography (CT) have resulted in a substantial increase in the size of datasets. We built a new concept of medical image compression that provides the best compromise between compression rate and image quality. The method is based on

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
