A lossless compression method for multi-component medical images based on big data mining

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
In disease diagnosis, medical image plays an important part. Its lossless compression is pretty critical, which directly determines the requirement of local storage space and communication bandwidth of remote medical systems, so as to help the diagnosis ...

Realization of a Bilayer Elastic Topological Insulator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bilayer elastic wave topological insulators are experimentally realized, introducing the layer degree of freedom to access four topological phases. This enables diverse domain walls and transmission behaviors, including interlayer conversion and beam splitting.

Importance of Watermark Lossless Compression in Digital Medical Image Watermarking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Large size data requires more storage space, communication time, communication bandwidth and degrades host image quality when it is embedded into it as watermark. Lossless compression reduces data size better than lossless one but with permanent loss of

Arbitrary Orthogonal Polarization Decomposition and Routing With Complex Amplitude Modulation via Wheel‐of‐Fortune‐Inspired Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a receiver‐transmitter‐integrated metasurface that decomposes an incident wave into orthogonal components and routes them into separate channels. Inspired by a “Wheel‐of‐Fortune” mechanism, it enables independent control over the amplitude, phase, and polarization of the transmitted wave.

Dual‐Band Modulation of Emissivity and Solar Transmittance Through Chemical Composition‐Tuned Asymmetric Layer‐by‐Layer Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An unconventional asymmetric Layer‐by‐Layer (LbL) assembly technique was developed to fabricate a Fabry‐Pérot (F‐P) resonator, which enhances luminous transmittance (Tlum) and enables dual‐band modulation in both the near‐infrared (NIR) and mid‐infrared (MIR) regions.

Probability Prediction Network With Checkerboard Prior for Lossless Remote Sensing Image Compression

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Lossless remote sensing image compression aims to reduce the storage size of images without any information loss, ensuring that the decompressed image is identical to the original one.

Quasi Lossless Satellite Image Compression

open access: yesIGARSS 2022 - 2022 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2022
We describe an end-to-end trainable neural network for satellite image compression. The proposed approach builds upon an image compression scheme based on variational autoencoders with a learned hyper-prior that captures dependencies in the latent space for entropy coding.
