Encoding Occupancy in Memory Location for Efficient and Compact High‐Resolution Voxel Structures

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We encode information about geometric structure into the pointers of a sparse voxel directed acyclic graph (SVDAG). Each pointer carries information about the structure of the node it points to. Our encoding improves ray tracing performance and reduces model size in memory.

Variable‐Rate Texture Compression: Real‐Time Rendering with JPEG

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Although variable‐rate compressed image formats such as JPEG are widely used to efficiently encode images, they have not found their way into real‐time rendering due to special requirements such as random access to individual texels. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of variable‐rate texture compression on modern GPUs using the ...

Information Encryption in Ghost Imaging With Customized Data Container and XOR Operation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
The conventional ghost-imaging-based encryption (GIE) scheme has low-quality decrypted images and unsatisfied security. In this paper, we propose to cope with these issues using customized data container and exclusive-OR (XOR) operation.

Long‐Range Polariton Canalization in a Graphene‐Nanoribbon–Covered MgTeMoO6 Metasurface

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Simulated Re(Ez) field distributions at ω = 924 cm−1 for the graphene grating, MgTeMoO6 grating, the proposed hybrid structure, and the corresponding IFCs in (kx, ky) space are shown. Re(Ez) field maps in the x–y plane at ω = 924 cm−1 for Ef = 50, 70, 74, 76, 80, and 88 meV.

Capturing State‐of‐Charge‐Dependent Efficiency in Battery Energy Storage Systems: A Bernoulli Model Approach

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
Conventional battery energy storage system models assume constant efficiencies, overlooking key physical limitations. This work introduces an analytical model with realistic state‐of‐charge (SOC)‐dependent efficiencies and charge acceptance, predicting that system operation concentrates in intermediate SOC ranges—a critical, overlooked behaviour ...

Lossless Compression of Malaria-Infected Erythrocyte Images Using Vision Transformer and Deep Autoencoders

open access: yesComputers
Lossless compression of medical images allows for rapid image data exchange and faithful recovery of the compressed data for medical image assessment. There are many useful telemedicine applications, for example in diagnosing conditions such as malaria ...

Efficient and Lossless Polynomial-Based Secret Image Sharing for Color Images

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In today's era of developed network, it is particularly important to ensure the security of information. Secret image sharing is a kind of secret information protection technology with loss tolerance by sharing a secret image to a number of shadow images.

A Perspective of Multi‐Reflecting TOF MS

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 45, Issue 3, Page 476-506, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS) excels in rapid and high‐sensitivity analysis, making it a cornerstone of analytical chemistry. But as sample complexity explodes in omics studies, so does the need for higher resolving power to ensure accurate results.
