Ergo-Lot-Sizing: Considering Ergonomics in Lot-Sizing Decisions

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2015
Abstract One aspect that has mostly been overlooked in traditional economic lot-sizing is the implication of decisions on manual tasks and workload. Although lot-sizing decisions can have a significant impact on required manual material handling and on human performance, works that consider ergonomic aspects in lot-sizing are rare.

Modeling Multi-Plant Capacitated Lot Sizing Problem with Interplant Transfer [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences, 2021
Lot sizing models involve operational and tactical decisions. These decisions may entail multi-level production processes such as assembly operations with multiple plants and limited capacities.

A study of the lot-sizing polytope [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Programming, 2004
This is an analysis of the convex hull of feasible solutions \(F\) of the lot-sizing problem in bottleneck flow formulation. First, it is shown that the convex hull of \(F\) is full dimensional and trivial facets are given. Then the authors define bottlenecks of sets \(S\) and bottleneck covers to introduce bottleneck cover inequalities (BCI).

Optimization Multi-Item Lot Sizing Model involve Transportation and Capacity Constraint under Stochastic Demand using Aquila Optimizer

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Industri, 2023
Inventory issues are often a major concern as they significantly impact operating costs. Lot sizing is one of the key decisions in managing inventory. However, in a real context, the demand for each item is often uncertain.

Reformulated Silver-Meal and Similar Lot Sizing Techniques

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
Literature and most textbooks around the world describe Silver-Meal in such a way that periods with zero demand make Silver-Meal suggest a higher frequency of order replenishments than necessary and therefore higher total costs than necessary.

JOINT EFFCET OF FORECASTING AND LOT-SIZING METHOD ON COST MINIMIZATION OBJECTIVE OF A MANUFACTURER: A CASE STUDY [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Computer Science, 2020
Forecasting and lot-sizing problems are key for a variety of products manufactured in a plant of finite capacity. The plant manager needs to put special emphasis on the way of selecting the right forecasting methods with a higher level of accuracy and to

Note—On MRP Lot Sizing [PDF]

open access: yesManagement Science, 1982
In this Note we present an alternative formulation to the MRP lot sizing model of Steinberg and Napier (SN) (Steinberg, E., H. A. Napier. 1980. Optimal multi-level lot sizing for requirements planning systems. Management Sci. 26 (2) 1258–1271.). The alternative is more parsimonious and the notation less cumbersome.
