The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

PENGARUH PENENTUAN JUMLAH PEMESANAN PADA BULLWHIP EFFECT

open access: yesJ@ti Undip: Jurnal Teknik Industri, 2017
Bullwhip effect adalah suatu kondisi dimana terjadi peningkatan variasi permintaan dalam suatu rantai pasok. Bullwhip effect ini dapat diakibatkan oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya yaitu jumlah pemesanan.

A relax-and-fix with fix-and-optimize heuristic applied to multi-level lot-sizing problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we propose a simple but efficient heuristic that combines construction and improvement heuristic ideas to solve multi-level lot-sizing problems.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

On Setup Cost Reduction in the Economic Lot-Sizing Model Without Speculative Motives [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
An important special case of the economic lot-sizing problem is the one in which there are no speculative motives to hold inventory, i.e., the marginal cost of producing one unit in some period plus the cost of holding it until some future period is at ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

A Polynomial Time Algorithm for a Deterministic Joint Pricing and Inventory Model [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we consider the uncapacitated economic lot-size model, where demand is adeterministic function of price. In the model a single price need to be set for all periods.

Single item stochastic lot sizing problem considering capital flow and business overdraft [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper introduces capital flow to the single item stochastic lot sizing problem. A retailer can leverage business overdraft to deal with unexpected capital shortage, but needs to pay interest if its available balance goes below zero.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
