Salt Water Drops Slide Faster: Ionic Modulation of Drop Friction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt ions markedly accelerate water drops on conductive substrates coated with nanometer‐thin hydrophobic layers. Across diverse electrolytes and surfaces, higher ion concentration consistently lowers kinetic friction by reducing contact angle hysteresis.

The Heavy Metal-Associated Isoprenylated Plant Protein (HIPP) Gene Family Plays a Crucial Role in Cadmium Resistance in Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera G.)

open access: yesHorticulturae
Cadmium (Cd) contamination poses significant threats to aquatic ecosystems. Heavy metal-associated isoprenylated plant proteins (HIPPs) are plant-specific chaperones involved in metal ion homeostasis and stress adaptation.

Combined Foaming and Surface Structuring of Polymers With Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (scCO2) Applying an Incomplete Saturation Strategy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Combined foaming and structuring of polymer samples by processing with supercritical CO2 leads to nano‐ and microstructured surfaces on top of perfectly white polymer sheets. ABSTRACT Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) is a widely applied solvent utilized in many physical–chemical processes, including the foaming or structuring of polymers.

Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) benzylisoquinoline alkaloids: advances in chemical profiling, extraction methods, pharmacological activities, and biosynthetic elucidation

open access: yesVegetable Research
As a member of the only two species in the Nelumbonaceae family, lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) accumulates abundant benzylisoquinoline alkaloids (BIAs) in almost all of its tissues. Evidence from both traditional and modern medicine suggest great potential of

Climate variability shapes the mutualistic interaction between truffle‐like ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi and a mycophagous mammal

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
The mutualistic interaction between truffle‐like ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi and mycophagous mammals is fundamental to forest health, supporting fungal dispersal, soil structure, nutrient cycling, and plant community dynamics worldwide. However, climate change may disrupt this mutualism in unprecedented ways by altering truffle‐like ECM sporing body ...
