A Digital Loudspeaker: Experimental Construction

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2006
To verify the principal functionality of a digital loudspeaker the experimental construction of a digital loudspeaker was designed. This system consists of signal processing unit and transducer array.

Comparison of Acceptable Noise Level Generated Using Different Transducers and Response Modes

open access: yesNeural Plasticity, 2018
The acceptable noise level (ANL) was defined by subtracting the background noise level (BNL) from the most comfortable listening level (MCL) (ANL = MCL − BNL).

Control of a dual-layer loudspeaker array for the generation of private sound

open access: yes, 2012
A dual-layer loudspeaker array has been constructed and controlled in order to ensure directional radiation over only one hemisphere of the region surrounding the array.

Thermoacoustic refrigeration [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
A new refrigerator which uses resonant high amplitude sound in inert gases to pump heat is described and demonstrated. The phasing of the thermoacoustic cycle is provided by thermal conduction.

Prognostic Value of Neurofilament Light Chain and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein in ALD‐Related Myelopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD) is a neurometabolic disorder caused by pathogenic variants in ABCD1, leading to slowly progressive spinal cord disease in nearly all affected men. Sensitive biomarkers to quantify disease severity and predict progression are needed for clinical care and trial design.

Power Parameters and Efficiency of Class B Audio Amplifiers in Real-World Scenario [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2017
Consumer audio amplifiers are intended to op¬erate with various loudspeaker loads, i.e. the load imped¬ance profile of the audio amplifier is a priori unknown.

Comprehensive Assessment of Arterial, Tissue, and Venous Collaterals for Evaluating the Infarct Growth Rate: The Multimodal Collateral Score

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Collaterals are crucial factors that influence the infarct growth rate (IGR). We aimed to determine whether a comprehensive multimodal collateral score (MCS), incorporating collateral assessment at the arterial, tissue, and venous levels, is associated with functional independence and provides incremental prognostic value over ...

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

A Lightweight Loudspeaker for Aircraft Communications and Active Noise Control [PDF]

open access: yes
A series of new, lightweight loudspeakers for use on commercial aircraft has been developed. The loudspeakers use NdFeB magnets and aluminum alloy frames to reduce the weight. The NdFeB magnet is virtually encapsulated by steel in the new speaker designs.

Comparison of digital loudspeaker - equalization techniques

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2005
An overview of digital equalization techniques for loudspeaker systems is presented. The known algorithms are systematized and modified. Equalization is effected by a single digital filter for the on-axis loudspeaker response.
