Synthesis of Room Impulse Responses for Variable Source Characteristics

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2011
Every acoustic source, e.g. a speaker, a musical instrument or a loudspeaker, generally has a frequency dependent characteristic radiation pattern, which is preeminent at higher frequencies.

Conformally Perforated Shellular Metamaterials with Tunable Thermomechanical and Acoustic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces Conformally Perforated Shellular Metamaterials (CPSMs), which overcome TPMS design limitations by mapping 2D cellular layouts onto 3D surfaces. CPSMs exhibit enhanced elastic stiffness, thermal conductivity, and acoustic performance compared to intact P‐type shellulars, demonstrating their potential as multifunctional ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Fluorophobic Effect Enables Selective Detection of PFAS in Water with Electrolyte‐Gated Organic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PerFluoroAlkyl Substances (PFAS) are responsible of major and persistent environmental pollution worldwide. This work demonstrates an ultra‐sensitive sensor for PFAS based on an organic transistor whose gate is functionalized with a binary self‐assembled monolayer containing a perfluorinated molecule.

Design and performance evaluation of a cascade thermoacoustic electric generator with side-branched loudspeaker coupling

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This study presents the design, optimization, and performance evaluation of a novel cascade thermoacoustic electric generator (TAEG) that integrates a commercially available loudspeaker in a side-branched configuration as the acoustic-to-electric ...
