Experiments with a loudspeaker

European Journal of Physics, 2009
A common moving-coil loudspeaker is useful for learning harmonic motion. A simple optical method is used to observe free and forced oscillations of the diaphragm of a loudspeaker. With a lock-in amplifier and data-acquisition system, the frequency response of the loudspeaker and its electrical impedance are automatically recorded versus frequency. From

A Distributed Loudspeaker

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1956
In ordinary loudspeakers for the audible range, the paper cone forms the matching device between driving mechanism and air load. It is well known that the cone cannot be designed without much trial and error, as movement at the higher frequencies is very complicated.

On the characterization of Peth's Loudspeaker

Publicationes Mathematicae Debrecen, 2015
For $d \in \mathbb{N}$ and $\mathbf{r} \in \mathbb{C}^d$ let $ _\mathbf{r}: \mathbb{Z}[\mathrm{i}]^d \to \mathbb{Z}[\mathrm{i}]^d$, where $ _\mathbf{r}(\mathbf{a})=(a_2,...,a_d,$ $-\lfloor\mathbf{r}\mathbf{a}\rfloor)$ for $\mathbf{a}=(a_1,...,a_d)$, denote the (d-dimensional) Gaussian shift radix system associated with $\mathbf{r}$.

Loudspeaker Measurements and Modeling

1997
Loudspeaker measurement technology has grown significantly in the last two decades since digital signal processing has come on the scene. In earlier days, we had mechanically driven sine wave oscillators operating in synchronism with moving paper chart recorders, many of which are just now winding down their useful existence.
