Modelling and FEM Simulation of Love Wave SAW-Based Dichloromethane Gas Sensor
In this paper, surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology based on love waves was designed in three dimensions for finite element modelling (FEM) and analysis in order to detect volatile organic compounds (VOC).

Surface Acoustic Wave Biosensor with Laser-Deposited Gold Layer Having Controlled Porosity
Laser-deposited gold immobilization layers having different porosities were incorporated into love wave surface acoustic wave sensors (LW-SAWs). Variation of pulsed laser deposition parameters allows good control of the gold film morphology.

The origin of secondary microseism Love waves [PDF]
Significance Secondary microseisms are the strongest background seismic vibrations of the Earth and represent the major part of global seismographic data. Secondary microseisms are generated by wind-driven ocean storms, whose energy couples with the solid Earth at the seafloor.

Modelling of Love Waves in Fluid Saturated Porous Viscoelastic Medium resting over an Exponentially Graded Inhomogeneous Half-space Influenced by Gravity [PDF]
The present article is devoted to a theoretical study on Love wave vibration in a pre-stressed fluid-saturated anisotropic porous viscoelastic medium embedded over an inhomogeneous isotropic half-space influenced by gravity.

Cloaking strategy for Love waves [PDF]
Love waves are antiplane elastic waves which propagate along the surface of a heterogeneous medium. Under time-harmonic regime, they are governed by a scalar equation of the Helmholtz type. We exploit the invariance of this governing equation under an in-plane arbitrary coordinate transformation to design broadband cloaks for surface defects.

On Love Waves across the Ocean [PDF]
i Displacements of Love waves generated by a two-dimensional point source in a layered medium have been studied earlier by Sezawa & Sato by the method of successive reflections at the boundaries. In this paper the same problem has been worked out by using Green's function.

Love Wave Tomography of the United States
Abstract Love wave phase velocity maps provide essential constraints on radial anisotropy and deformation in the crust and upper mantle. However, the phenomenon of overtone interference causes scatter and systematic bias in the velocity measurements and impedes efforts to image small‐scale anisotropic variations.

Control of Love waves by resonant metasurfaces [PDF]
AbstractMetasurfaces of mechanical resonators have been successfully used to control in-plane polarized surface waves for filtering, waveguiding and lensing applications across different length scales. In this work, we extend the concept of metasurfaces to anti-plane surface waves existing in semi-infinite layered media, generally known as Love waves ...

Mass Sensitivity Evaluation of Surface Acoustic Wave Biosensor [PDF]
In this paper, the mass sensitivity of a 3-Dimensional SiO2/36°YX LiTaO3 Love mode SAW biosensor is investigated by a novel approach. The normalized displacement confirms the shear horizontal nature of Love wave.
