Physics-Based Noise Modeling for Extreme Low-Light Photography [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2021
Enhancing the visibility in extreme low-light environments is a challenging task. Under nearly lightless condition, existing image denoising methods could easily break down due to significantly low SNR.

Transimpedance Amplifier for Noise Measurements in Low-Resistance IR Photodetectors

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
This paper presents the design and testing of an ultra-low-noise transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for low-frequency noise measurements on low-impedance (below 1 kΩ) devices, such as advanced IR photodetectors.

Noise-optimized ultrastable low-noise current amplifier [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2019
We have developed a noise-optimized ultrastable low-noise current amplifier (ULCA) aimed at reducing the uncertainty at low currents. It involves a thin-film resistor network with 6.75 GΩ at the high-ohmic path which reduces the noise level to 1.6 fA/Hz. Noise investigations as well as short-term and long-term stability studies were carried out.

Modelling the acoustic performance of newly laid low-noise pavements

open access: yesConstruction and Building Materials, 2020
Road traffic in urban contexts produces noise mainly by the interaction of tyres with pavement surface and, therefore, the use of low-noise surfaces represents the best solution since they aim to mitigate the source.

Study on Noise Reduction with Paving Different Low Noise Pavement Materials

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This paper evaluates the amount of noise reduction when using different pavement materials in two adjacent lanes, where the close-proximity (CPX) method is introduced to analyze the tire/road noise before and after pavement maintenance.
