Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

A Study On Stress Management Among Employees Towards Alloy Industries With Reference To Coimbatore [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In order to boost strength or corrosion resistance, two or more metallic components are mixed to form an alloy, which is a type of metal. A metallic material composed of two or more elements is called an alloy, sometimes known as a compound or a solution.

Inactivation of murine norovirus on a range of copper alloy surfaces is accompanied by loss of capsid integrity

open access: yes, 2015
Norovirus is one of the most common causes of acute viral gastroenteritis. The virus is spread via the fecal-oral route, most commonly from infected food and water, but several outbreaks have originated from contamination of surfaces with infectious ...

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Characteristics of 3D Printed Functionally Graded Material for Replacement of Dissimilar Metal Weld in Nuclear Reactor [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials
The dissimilar metal welds in the most of the reactors are connections between low alloy steel parts and stainless steel piping. There is a high possibility of primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) damage attributed to residual stress caused by
