The design of an Fe-12Mn-O.2Ti alloy steel for low temperature use [PDF]
An investigation was made to improve the low temperature mechanical properties of Fe-8 approximately 12% Mn-O 2Ti alloy steels. A two-phase(alpha + gamma) tempering in combination with cold working or hot working was identified as an effective treatment.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

The Effects of Alloying Elements on the Corrosion of Rebar Steel in a Chloride Environment
The corrosion behaviors in chloride environment of two commercial low-alloy steel bars were studied. Through cyclic wetting tests, accelerated corrosion experiments ranging from 1 to 576 h were conducted on low-alloy bars and original bars.

Fireside corrosion degradation of ferritic alloys at 600°C in oxy-fired conditions [PDF]
This paper reports the results of a study carried out to investigate the effects of simulated coal/biomass combustion conditions on the fireside corrosion. The 1000 h deposit recoat exposure (5 × 200 h cycles) was carried out at 600 °C.

Sinter hardening low-alloy steels
The availability of prealloyed steel powders employing molybdenum as the major alloying element offers new levels of compressibility and mechanical properties. When the prealloyed powders are combined with conventional P/M additives such as copper, nickel and graphite, it is possible to develop high strength martensitic microstructures directly from ...

Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

The growing demand for lightweight, nontoxic, and multifunctional gamma shielding materials has intensified efforts to find alternatives to conventional lead and aluminum‐based protectants. In this work, we develop epoxy quartz fabric composites reinforced with cobalt chloride (CoCl2) microparticles, fabricated via hand lay‐up with varying filler ...
