Study on the Bonding Mechanism of Copper-Low Carbon Steel for Casting Compounding Process

open access: yesMetals, 2021
The casting compounding process for copper-steel composite material has broad prospects of application, but due to the lack of supporting theories (especially the bonding mechanism of copper-steel at high temperatures), it is developing slowly.

Effects of Continuous Rolling and Reversible Rolling on 2.4% Si Non-Oriented Silicon Steel

open access: yesCrystals
The cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel sheets with a Si content of 2.4 wt.%, produced by continuous and reversible cold rolling, were used as the experimental material. The effects of annealing temperature on the microstructure, texture, and magnetic

A comparative study on hot deformation behaviours of low-carbon and medium-carbon vanadium microalloyed steels

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
Carbon is an essential element in steel, but there are still discrepancies regarding its effect on steel hot deformation behaviours. In this research, isothermal compression tests were carried out for a low-carbon (0.05 C) and a medium-carbon (0.38 C ...

Optimising the laser-welded butt-joints of medium carbon steel using RSM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The optimization capabilities in design-expert software were used to optimise the keyhole parameters (i.e. maximize penetration (P) and minimise the heat input, width of welded zone, (W) and width of heat affected zone (WHAZ)) in CW CO2 laser butt ...

The Influence of Annealing Temperature on the Microstructure and Performance of Cold-Rolled High-Conductivity and High-Strength Steel

open access: yesCrystals
Low-carbon micro-alloyed steel has become a wire material with great potential for further development due to its excellent comprehensive performance; however, there is still a lack of insight into the evolution of its electrical conductivity during ...

Deformation and Structure Difference of Steel Droplets during Initial Solidification

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2017
The surface quality of slabs is closely related with the initial solidification at very first seconds of molten steel near meniscus in mold during continuous casting.

Hydrogen Embrittlement of Low Carbon Structural Steel [PDF]

open access: yesProcedia Materials Science, 2014
AbstractHydrogen embrittlement (HE) of steels is extremely interesting topic in many industrial applications, while a predictive physical model still does not exist. A number of studies carried out in the world are unambiguous confirmation of that statement.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
