Individual Behaviors and Health Inequalities: Preterm Birth During the COVID‐19 Pandemic in Mexico

open access: yesPopulation and Development Review, EarlyView.
Abstract We evaluate the consequences of the COVID‐19 pandemic for preterm birth in Mexico using microdata that include all births from 2014 to 2022. The country's hybrid public/private healthcare system allows us to examine how women's adaptive behaviors to the health crisis shaped their birth outcomes.

Quantum stabilizer codes and beyond [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
The importance of quantum error correction in paving the way to build a practical quantum computer is no longer in doubt. This dissertation makes a threefold contribution to the mathematical theory of quantum error-correcting codes. Firstly, it extends the framework of an important class of quantum codes -- nonbinary stabilizer codes.

Novel construction of QC-LDPC codes with modified 2-D GRS codes

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2015
The construction method for QC-LDPC (quasi-cyclic low density parity-check) code with modified two-dimensional generalized reed-solomon (2-D GRS) code is proposed using the generator polynomial of GRS code,so thus the constructed code can have better ...

Hybrid neural coded modulation: Design and training methods

open access: yesICT Express, 2022
We propose a hybrid coded modulation scheme which composes of inner and outer codes. The outer-code can be any standard binary linear code with efficient soft decoding capability (e.g. low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes).

Color Inside and Outside the Lines: Evidence From Eye‐Tracking Studies on Conformity to and Differentiation From Category Color Codes

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, Volume 42, Issue 5, Page 1330-1345, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Category color codes are commonly used hues in packaging within a specific product category. These colors establish visual standards for new products and influence consumer perception and product categorization. Product managers face a challenging decision: Should they conform to or differentiate from these established color norms? For example,
