Illness risk representations underlying women's breast cancer risk appraisals: A theory‐informed qualitative analysis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Health Psychology, Volume 30, Issue 2, May 2025.
Abstract Objectives This study assessed the utility of Cameron's Illness Risk Representation (IRR) framework in understanding how women interpret their breast cancer risk after receiving a clinically derived estimate. Design Secondary qualitative analysis of two studies within the BC‐Predict trial, using semi‐structured telephone interviews with women ...

Anti-Cycle-Slip LDPC Decoding Algorithm for BPSK System

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2014
When cycle-slip occurs in BPSK modulation system, sign of information sequence which is input of LDPC decoder is opposite to the original one. This problem will lead to decoder failure.

ON THE COMPARISON OF DIFFERENT SERIAL CONCATENATED SCHEMES BASED ON POLAR AND LDPC CODES [PDF]

open access: yes
Nowadays concatenated codes are actively developed for different applications of error-correcting theory. In this paper we propose a new method for constructing concatenated codes consisting of some outer error-correcting code and a particular designed ...

The Hidden Value of Adult Informal Care in Europe

open access: yesHealth Economics, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 791-812, April 2025.
ABSTRACT The hidden value of adult informal care (IC) refers to the unaccounted value of informal care in overall costs of long‐term care (LTC) estimates. This paper estimates the net value of adult IC in Europe, drawing on a well‐being‐based methodology.

Bilateral investment treaties and sovereign default risk: Evidence for emerging markets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, Volume 30, Issue 2, Page 1803-1830, April 2025.
Abstract This paper analyses the impact of bilateral investment treaties (BITs) on sovereign default risk using monthly data for 29 emerging markets from 1996 to 2016. Does induction or augmentation of labor increase the risk of postpartum hemorrhage in pregnant women with anemia? A multicenter prospective cohort study in India

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 169, Issue 1, Page 299-309, April 2025.
Abstract Objective To investigate whether induction/augmentation of labor in pregnant women with anemia increases the risk of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and whether this risk varied by indications for labor induction/augmentation and by anemia severity in pregnancy.

Hypergraph product code with 0.2 constant coding rate and high code capacity noise threshold [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The low coding rate of quantum stabilizer codes results in formidable physical qubit overhead when realizing quantum error correcting in engineering. In this letter, we propose a new class of hypergraph-product code called TGRE-hypergraph-product code.

Extracellular Vesicles Alter Trophoblast Function in Pregnancies Complicated by COVID‐19

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) infection and resulting coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) cause placental dysfunction, which increases the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. While abnormal placental pathology resulting from COVID‐19 is common, direct infection of the placenta is rare.
