Creep studies on oriented thermoplastics [PDF]
The enhancement of many of the mechanical properties of thermoplastics which may be achieved by orienting the molecules has been known for some time. It has been exploited in the production of textile fibres end oriented films.

Dielectric Breakdown Strength of Polyethylene Nanocomposites
The term “nanometric dielectrics” or simply “nanodielectrics” was introduced in 1994 when Lewis [1] anticipated the potential property changes that would benefit electrical insulation due to nano-sized inclusion.

Transparent low‐density polyethylene/starch nanocomposite films
AbstractLow‐density polyethylene (LDPE)/starch nanocomposite films were prepared by melt extrusion process. The first step includes the preparation of starch–clay nanocomposite by solution intercalation method. The resultant product was then melt mixed with the main matrix, which is LDPE.

Welding Flow of Low Density Polyethylene Melt
Weld-lines degrade the mechanical and optical properties of products. This is because the polymer molecules near the weld-line highly orient owing to the elongational flow and the molecular orientation is fixed by solidification of the polymer melts before it returns to a random condition.
