Low Earth Orbit Satellite Radio Networks
1997A global phone company may sound a curious statement in an industry still dominated by state-owned monopolies which mainly work within their national borders. But it is a concept whose time has come as, practically everywhere, governments either privatize or think of privatizing and deregulating their phone markets.

Low-Earth-orbit satellite systems in ocean science
OCEANS 96 MTS/IEEE Conference Proceedings. The Coastal Ocean - Prospects for the 21st Century, 2002Scientists and engineers constantly face the challenge of getting data from remote areas of the world's oceans back to their laboratories. Low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites already provide routine access to such data. We review the LEO satellite telemetry systems used in ocean sciences.

COMMUNICATIONS DURATION WITH LOW EARTH ORBITING SATELLITES
2007Communication via satellite begins when the satellite is positioned in the desired orbital position. The satellite’ s coverage area on the Earth depends on orbital parameters. Ground stations can communicate with LEO (Low Earth Orbiting) satellites only when the satellite is in their visibility region.

Low Earth orbit satellite communication system Courier 1
Proceedings of International Conference on Satellite Communications. ICSC'94, 2002The low orbit global satellite system (GSS) for data exchange and communication Courier-1 is being designed and manufactured by a group of electronics companies within the ELAS Scientific and Research Company and a group of rocket-space companies headed by the COMPLM Scientific and Technological Company.

Ground Station for Low Earth Orbit Satellites
2022Ground stations are essential for satellite operations as they are used to send commands to satellites, receive the satellite telemetry information and payload data. We constructed a ground station for UHF and VHF band two-way communication with low Earth orbit satellites and prepared for installation an X-band downlink ground station.

Solar array development for low earth orbit satellite
INTELEC 2009 - 31st International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2009In general, solar array is used for primary power source of satellite. For solar array design, required power and voltage are considered to perform the mission successfully. Also, solar cell degradation and string failure at EOL (End of Life) are considered for its design.

Inter-satellite ranging in the Low Earth Orbit
2016 10th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP), 2016Many satellite systems require knowledge about inter-satellite distances. Inter-satellite links provide direct connectivity between satellites and may be used for ranging, while they remove the need of dedicated hardware. This paper addresses inter-satellite ranging at the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) using S-Band signals. We take the requirements from recent

Eclipse Prediction Algorithms for Low-Earth-Orbiting Satellites
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2017Earth-orbiting satellites experience a partial or full eclipse when they pass through the night side of the Earth. These eclipse events can have significant impacts on the satellite due to the dramatic change of the solar radiation incident. It is therefore essential to propose a high-precision eclipse prediction algorithm or even a space-borne ...

ORBCOMM low Earth orbit mobile satellite communication system
Proceedings of TCC'94 - Tactical Communications Conference, 1994The ORBCOMM digital data communication and position determination system can provide the United States Armed Forces with two-way on-the move data messaging anywhere in the world. The ORBCOMM system uses a constellation of 36 small spacecraft in low-Earth orbit (LEO) instead of terrestrial fixed site relays or repeaters to provide worldwide geographic ...
