Applications of Earth's Field NMR to porous systems and polymer gels

open access: yes, 2008
NMR relaxometry in the Earth's magnetic field is used to characterize porous systems and polymer gels. The used instrument is a home built Earth's field NMR (EFNMR) device equipped with some unique features such as first order gradiometer polarization ...

QBP1 Peptide as a Potential Anti‐Amyloidogenic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 effectively halts human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) aggregation, preventing the formation of toxic β‐structured intermediates. Through a combination of biophysical assays, molecular dynamics, and cell‐based studies, QBP1 is shown to preserve β‐cell viability and metabolic homeostasis, positioning it as a ...

AUREMOL-QTA, a program package for NMR based automated recognition and characterization of local and global conformational changes in proteins induced by ligand binding as external perturbation

open access: yes, 2013
Among all existing techniques for protein structure determination, NMR spectroscopy has the advantage to provide the most complete characterization of molecular structures in solution.

Natural Products Inspired Scaffold Diversification Leads to Unnatural Molecular Warhead and Covalent Strategy to Modulating Protein Function through Electrophilic Bromine Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a new thiolate‐reactive α,α‐gem‐dibromo lactam warhead that activates transcription factor Nrf2 and demonstrates anti‐inflammatory activities, which have implications in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular diseases. RNA‐seq illuminated detailed transcriptional profiles, and chemical reactions with cysteine‐containing compounds ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

A low-field NMR tool for soil moisture

open access: yes, 2011
Due to the increasing need in hydrology for techniques which could measure partial saturation of soils in a non-invasive way, the development of a low-field NMR sensor has been undertaken in this dissertation. Based on prior designs of low-field NMR instruments like the NMR-MOUSE and the well logging tools, two conceptual designs has been evaluated ...

Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Polysaccharide Suppresses Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Disrupting the Hippo‐YAP/TEAD4‐PDIA4 Axis and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibits addiction to chronic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which sustains an aggressive metastatic phenotype through activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we identify a previously unrecognized “ER‐stress addiction” axis in which the Hippo pathway effector TEAD4 directly ...

Dual‐Responsive Dynamic Covalent Bond‐Based Assembly of Lipid‐Nanozyme Systems via Multi‐Target Synergy and Efficient Target Enrichment for Ischemic Stroke Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This system adopts a biomimetic phospholipid structure, covalently binding iNOS inhibitors, neuroprotective agent PCA and vitamin E derivatives through pH/ROS dual‐responsive bonds, and assembles them with Prussian blue nanozyme to form PBB@AHA. It can efficiently penetrate the blood‐brain barrier and simultaneously release multiple active components ...
