Interaction of suprathermal solar wind electron fluxes with sheared whistler waves: fan instability [PDF]
Several in situ measurements performed in the solar wind evidenced that solar type III radio bursts were some-times associated with locally excited Langmuir waves, high-energy electron fluxes and low-frequency electrostatic and electromagnetic ...

Polarization in Low Frequency Radio Astronomy
This chapter introduces the concepts of polarimetry in the case of low frequency radio astronomy. In this regime radio waves are usually not the signature of atomic or molecular transitions lines, but rather that of unstable particle distribution functions releasing their free energy through electromagnetic radiation.

RFI Cancellation for an Array Radio Astronomy System With Receiver Nonlinearity
Radio frequency interference (RFI) is an important problem for a radio astronomy system (RAS) due to the very weak radio astronomical signals. Rapid expansions of active wireless systems (AWSs), as well as more demands for spectrum access by both AWS and

Directions for Space‐Based Low‐Frequency Radio Astronomy: 2. Telescopes [PDF]
Astronomical studies of celestial sources at low radio frequencies (0.3 to 30 MHz) lag far behind the investigations of celestial sources at high radio frequencies. In a companion paper [Basart et al., this issue] we discussed the need for low‐frequency investigations, and in this paper we discuss the telescopes required to make the observations. Radio

Revealing the Spectral Properties of Magnetic Turbulence by Synchrotron Polarization Gradients
Based on the modern understanding of MHD turbulence theory, we propose a new method for measuring the spectral properties of magnetic turbulence by synchrotron polarization gradient analysis.
