Neoadjuvant Under‐Dilated TIPS: Expanding Surgeries for Extrahepatic Malignancies in Patients With Cirrhosis and CSPH

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims Portal hypertension is a major challenge in patients with cirrhosis requiring surgery. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of under‐dilated neoadjuvant transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (U.N‐TIPS) in enabling elective extrahepatic oncologic surgery in patients with cirrhosis and clinically significant portal

Embedded 3D‐Coaxial Bioprinting of Stenotic Brain Vessels with a Mechanically Enhanced Extracellular Matrix Bioink for Investigating Hemodynamic Force‐Induced Endothelial Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 50, December 9, 2025.
In this study, a physically enhanced vascular dECM bioink and used 3D‐coaxial bioprinting are developed to fabricate mature brain blood vessels for cerebral atherosclerosis research. This model demonstrates that vascular geometry‐induced hemodynamic changes trigger vascular inflammation, ensuring its potential for cerebrovascular research.

Clinical Outcomes Post‐Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients With Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 106, Issue 7, Page 3419-3426, December 1, 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) were excluded from all major trials for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). “Suicide left ventricle” occurring after TAVR is postulated to occur as a result of chronic pressure overload from fixed obstruction that is acutely relieved after the valve deployment ...

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation: predictors of procedural success—the Siegburg-Bern experience [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aims The purpose of the present analysis was to identify predictors of procedural success of percutaneous transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Methods and results We prospectively assessed in-hospital outcome of patients undergoing TAVI at two

Comparison of in‐Hospital Complication Rates After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients With Bicuspid Versus Tricuspid Aortic Valves: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 106, Issue 7, Page 3489-3497, December 1, 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has become a popular alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) for patients with valvular heart disease (VHD), particularly for those with aortic anomalies. Aims The study aimed to compare the risks of post‐TAVR complications between patients with bicuspid and tricuspid ...
