Successive Low-Light Image Enhancement Using an Image-Adaptive Mask

open access: yes, 2022
Low-light images are obtained in dark environments or in environments where there is insufficient light. Because of this, low-light images have low intensity values and dimmed features, making it difficult to directly apply computer vision or image ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Delaunay triangulation based image enhancement for echocardiography images

open access: yes, 2009
A novel image enhancement approach for automatic echocardiography image processing is proposed. The main steps include undecimated wavelet based speckle noise reduction, edge detection, followed by a regional enhancement process that employs Delaunay ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Hierarchical flow learning for low-light image enhancement

open access: yesDigital Communications and Networks
Low-light images often have defects such as low visibility, low contrast, high noise, and high color distortion compared with well-exposed images. If the low-light region of an image is enhanced directly, the noise will inevitably blur the whole image ...

Improving the perception of low-light enhanced images

open access: yesOptics Express
Improving images captured under low-light conditions has become an important topic in computational color imaging, as it has a wide range of applications. Most current methods are either based on handcrafted features or on end-to-end training of deep neural networks that mostly focus on minimizing some distortion metric —such as PSNR or SSIM— on a set ...

Speckle Reduction with Attenuation Compensation for Skin OCT Images Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yes
The enhancement of skin image in optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging can help dermatologists to investigate tissue layers more accurately, hence the more efficient diagnosis.

Low-light Image Enhancement via Multispectral Reconstruction

open access: yes
Low-light images often fail to accurately capture color and texture, limiting their practical applications in imaging technology. The use of low-light image enhancement technology can effectively restore the color and texture information contained in the

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
