Ion‐Reconfigurable “N”‐Shaped Antiambipolar Behavior in Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A unique N‐shaped negative differential transconductance (NDT) characteristics is demonstrated in single‐polymer organic electrochemical transistors through a sequential doping–redox–doping process driven by iodide ions. This redox‐driven mechanism enables low‐voltage, ion‐controlled reconfigurability and tunable current modulation, allowing seamless ...

Neutrino treatment in multidimensional astrophysical simulations : a new spectral scheme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Neutrinos play a central role in modern physics and astrophysics. Their extremely weak interaction rate with baryons and other leptons makes their detection on the Earth difficult and challenging.

Dual Perspectives on GX 17+2: A Simultaneous NICER and NuSTAR Study

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We performed the first simultaneous NICER and NuSTAR spectral and timing study of the Sco-like Z source GX 17+2. The source traced the full Z track during four observations.

Reflecting on accretion in neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science
Neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries accrete via Roche-lobe overflow from a stellar companion that is $\lesssim$ 1 M$_{\odot}$. The accretion disk in these systems can be externally illuminated by X-rays that are reprocessed by the accreting material into an emergent reflection spectrum comprised of emission lines superimposed onto the reprocessed ...

Quark stars in Low-Mass X-ray Binaries: for and against

open access: yes, 2000
It has been suggested that both X-ray bursters and millisecond radio pulsars may be strange (quark) stars, rather than neutron stars. Confirming (or rejecting) this suggestion may require knowing what role strong-field effects of general relativity play in the accretion flow of the compact X-ray source in low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs). We discuss the

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

TeV astronomy of millisecond pulsars [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This thesis is concerned with the detection of pulsed TeV γ-rays from millisecond pulsars. These stars appear to include some very efficient producers of high energy particles, but the mechanisms by which they produce TeV γ-rays are still a matter of ...

On the X-ray Emission of Massive Binary Stars [PDF]

open access: yes
This thesis is dedicated to the theoretical investigation of massive binary systems consisting of a normal star and a neutron star or black hole as a companion.

The Peculiar Disk Evolution of 4U 1630-472 Observed by Insight-HXMT During its 2022 and 2023 Outbursts

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We study the spectral properties of the black hole X-ray transient binary 4U 1630–472 during its 2022 and 2023 outbursts with Insight-HXMT observations. We find that the outbursts are in peculiar soft states.

Thermal‐Driven Diode Polarity Switching From Competing Helical Superconducting States in WTe2/α‐Fe2O3 Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A Nb‐proximitized Josephson junction based on a WTe2/α‐Fe2O3 heterostructure exhibits a robust superconducting diode effect with programmable polarity. The diode direction can be trained by magnetic fields and switched by temperature cycling, revealing tunable finite‐momentum pairing states and competing superconducting states in symmetry‐broken ...
