Reflecting on accretion in neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries
Neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries accrete via Roche-lobe overflow from a stellar companion that is $\lesssim$ 1 M$_{\odot}$. The accretion disk in these systems can be externally illuminated by X-rays that are reprocessed by the accreting material into an emergent reflection spectrum comprised of emission lines superimposed onto the reprocessed ...

TeV astronomy of millisecond pulsars [PDF]
This thesis is concerned with the detection of pulsed TeV γ-rays from millisecond pulsars. These stars appear to include some very efficient producers of high energy particles, but the mechanisms by which they produce TeV γ-rays are still a matter of ...

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

A Holistic Stabilization of the Anode in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries Through a Ternary Alloy Fusion
LiTeAl anodes fabricated through a scalable thermal fusion technique holistically addresses the stability issues faced by lithium‐metal anodes in lithium–sulfur batteries. Aluminum forming a skeletal network with lithium suppresses dendrite growth and enhances energy density, while tellurium forming a robust SEI facilitates Li+‐ion flow.

Long-term Quasiperiodicity in LMXB 4U 1636–536
We present the results of the low-mass X-ray binary 4U 1636–536 study. We performed a temporal analysis of all available RXTE/All-Sky Monitor, RXTE/Proportional Counter Array, Swift/Burst Alert Telescope, and MAXI data collected until the middle of 2022.
