Directional Transformation of Native Holocellulose into Long-Chain Ether Fuel Precursors over Metal Oxides

open access: yesEnergies
Incomplete diesel combustion emits soot and CO. The use of biomass-derived, oxygen-containing diesel additives has been proposed as an effective mitigation strategy.

How to Construct a Combined S-CO2 Cycle for Coal Fired Power Plant?

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
It is difficult to recover the residual heat from flue gas when supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) cycle is used for a coal fired power plant, due to the higher CO2 temperature in tail flue and the limited air temperature in air preheater. The combined

Emergency sources pre-positioning for resilient restoration of distribution network

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
In recent years, the large-scale power outages caused by extreme natural disasters have caused considerable economic losses. In this paper, an optimization decision-making method is proposed to allocate emergency power resources in a distribution system ...

Low power wireless sensor network for building monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A wireless sensor network is proposed for monitoring buildings to assess earthquake damage. The sensor nodes use custom-developed capacitive MEMS strain and 3D acceleration sensors and a low power readout ASIC for a battery life of up to 12 years.

Low Power Explicit Pulse Triggered Flip-Flop Design Based On A Pass Transistor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In VLSI system design, power consumption is the ambitious issue for the past respective years. Advanced IC fabrication technology grants the use of nano scaled devices, so the power dissipation becomes major problem in the designing of VLSI chips.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Design of Low Power and Area Efficient Carry Select Adder (CSLA) using Verilog Language [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Carry select method has deemed to be a good compromise between cost and performance in carry propagation adder design. However conventional carry select adder (CSLA) is still area consuming due to the dual ripple carry adder structure. The excessive area

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
