Low-Rise Building Wind Load Provisions
Engineering Journal, 1997The National Standard ASCE 7 was revised and published in January 1996 following many years of study by the Wind Loads Subcommittee of ASCE 7. Contained for the first time are a complete set of provisions for assessing wind loads for the design of low-rise buildings.

Optimization planning of low-rise residential buildings
2016 2nd International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM), 2016This paper presents a novel heuristic algorithm to solve the problem of optimal planning low-rise residential buildings. For this problem, many engineering companies try to use efficient methods to reduce costs. Firstly, it is shown that a comprehensive search is only effective on a small number of data.

Seismic Design of Low-Rise Steel Buildings
Journal of the Structural Division, 1979The behavior of selected low-rise steel buildings subjected to earthquake base motions has been studied, and recommended techniques for the earthquake resistant design of low-rise buildings have been presented. The seismic response of buildings of practical proportions when subjected to seismic response of buildings of practical proportions when ...

Wind pressures acting on low-rise buildings
Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 1999Abstract Data gathered from a number of field and laboratory experiments concerned with wind pressures acting on low-rise buildings are reviewed, and selected experimental results are presented in this paper. Particular attention is paid to works related to cladding design.

The significance of cracks in low‐rise buildings
Structural Survey, 2002This paper suggests a framework for the systematic investigation of cracking in low‐rise buildings. The procedure to follow is described in detail and monitoring equipment is recommended. A data‐gathering and assessment methodology is presented and the important question of whether the cracking is “significant” is considered.
