The Applicability of the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager to the Mapping of Sea Surface Salinity in the East China Sea

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
During the summer season, low-salinity water (LSW) inputs from the Changjiang River are observed as filamentous or lens-like features in the East China Sea.

A novel approach to solve the water saturation challenges in reservoirs under LoSal water injection

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
Enhancing hydrocarbon recovery is an ongoing practice in the petroleum industry. Multiple approaches are developed and proved their effectiveness in increasing reservoirs recovery. One of the recent approaches is the Low Salinity Water Injection which is

Mysteries behind the Low Salinity Water Injection Technique [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Engineering, 2014
Low salinity water injection (LSWI) is gaining popularity as an improved oil recovery technique in both secondary and tertiary injection modes. The objective of this paper is to investigate the main mechanisms behind the LSWI effect on oil recovery from carbonates through history-matching of a recently published coreflood.

Deterministic processes dominate archaeal community assembly from the Pearl River to the northern South China Sea

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
Archaea play a significant role in the biogeochemical cycling of nutrients in estuaries. However, comprehensive researches about their assembly processes remain notably insufficient.

The effects of hydrological connectivity blocking on Suaeda salsa development in the Yellow River Delta, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2022
Blocking of hydrological connectivity could greatly impact the sediment deposition process and change water and salinity conditions, which in turn affect plant germination, growth, and development in delta wetlands.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics
