Asset Valuation of Low-Volume Road Networks
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2007Asset management is a systematic process of maintenance, modernization, and operation of infrastructure assets in an economically efficient way. For these reasons, asset management has been considered as an emerging concept applied in the area of transport management. Privatization of Low-Volume-Road Maintenance Management
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2007In 2001, the Malaysian government privatized the maintenance of its federal road network. The network was divided into four maintenance regions. The southern region consists of about 4,000 km of roads; of that, about 1,800 km is under the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) scheme.

Overview of Low-Volume Roads: Keynote Address
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 1999In this keynote address, the author defines low-volume roads as those in a rural environment that enable automobile operation and account for less than 500 vehicles per day, pointing out that this is an arbitrary definition, as are all definitions, for the sake of identifying the group of roads to be considered.

Private–Public Partnership for Low-Volume Roads: Swedish Private Road Associations
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2003Unit costs for low-volume road construction and maintenance are low compared with those for higher-level roads. The problem is that in many countries this network is vast, and the total cost requirements to ensure minimum access are enormous. This problem is a particular challenge in developing countries where more than two-thirds of the poor reside ...

Application of geosynthetics on low-volume roads
Transportation Geotechnics, 2016Abstract There are numerous cost-effective applications for geosynthetics on low-volume roads, yet geosynthetic materials use on these roads is typically underutilized. The USDA Forest Service has been using geosynthetics on its low-volume roads for the past 40 years in applications of separation, reinforcement, drainage, filtration, and others.

DCP for Low Volume Road Design / Construction
Plan, Build, and Manage Transportation Infrastructure in China, 2008Due to its low impact on overall highway system in case of failure, low volume road design and construction acceptance are very often ignored by highway agencies. The negligence more often than not is due to lack of staff to handle these minor projects. From a macro highway system point of view, impact of low volume road failure is not significant. But
