Microalloyed Low-Carbon Multiphase Steels
steel research international, 2015Actual multiphase steels guarantee tensile strengths in different grades between 500 and 1000 MPa. Specifications and standards permit a wide field of chemical compositions. On one hand, carbon amounts higher than 0.12% are not seldom for grades exceeding 600 MPa tensile strength.

Low-Carbon Manganese TRIP Steels
Materials Science Forum, 2007The development of TRansformation Induced Plasicity (TRIP) steels has seen much activity in recent years, due to the promise of very high formability combined with high strength. The accepted method for production of as-hot-rolled TRIP steel employs multistage runout table cooling and coiling in the bainitic transformation temperature regime.

Microforming of a low carbon steel.
2009In recent years the use of micro products has been strongly increased. Microforming can be considered the most suitable technology to manufacture very small metallic parts for mass production. Performances are strongly coupled with material properties, determining forming forces, interface pressures and tooling life. However research activities on this

Abstract This chapter discusses the composition and structure of low-carbon irons and steels, particularly those used in the production of hot-rolled strip. It describes the manufacturing process from the production of ingots to coiling, and it explains how finishing and coiling temperatures affect ferritic grain size and the ...

Fusion of Low Carbon Steel Scrap in the Middle Carbon Steel Melt
Kovine zlitine tehnologije, 1996A quasi three-dimensional mathematical model of fusion of cylindrical steel scrap in converter melt was developed. The model was solved using the implicit altermating direction method. The obtained algorithm was programmed in ASCII FORTRAN for the computer SPERRY 1100/72.

A model for slip induced cleavage fracture has been proposed to account for the influence of both grain size and grain boundary carbide size on the fracture behaviour of low carbon steel. It was shown in low carbon irons that grain boundary carbides may fracture due to inhomogeneous yielding of the ferrite matrix and provide important sources of ...
