Noise-optimized ultrastable low-noise current amplifier [PDF]
We have developed a noise-optimized ultrastable low-noise current amplifier (ULCA) aimed at reducing the uncertainty at low currents. It involves a thin-film resistor network with 6.75 GΩ at the high-ohmic path which reduces the noise level to 1.6 fA/Hz. Noise investigations as well as short-term and long-term stability studies were carried out.

Low-discrepancy blue noise sampling [PDF]
We present a novel technique that produces two-dimensional low-discrepancy (LD) blue noise point sets for sampling. Using one-dimensional binary van der Corput sequences, we construct two-dimensional LD point sets, and rearrange them to match a target spectral profile while preserving their low discrepancy.

Low-Noise Techniques in Detectors [PDF]
We concentrate in this review on the fundamentals of low-noise techniques and on understanding the limits in the charge signal measurements. Charge collection and signal formation in detectors, the origin and properties of noise, noise and amplification of charge, and detectors and signal processing are discussed. (AIP)

Down With Noise: An Introduction to a Low-Noise Amplifier Survey
Numerous different circuits are created around the world on a daily basis, making it rather difficult for circuit designers to stay abreast of the latest developments. In an attempt to keep up with these new developments, researchers have compiled a number of spreadsheets that capture key designs and their features.

Appraisal of a low noise electrocardiogram
Two low noise electrocardiographic systems were designed to record low amplitude His-Purkinje potentials in the PR segment and delayed depolarization potentials in the ST-T segment from the body surface on a beat to beat basis. In one system, a bipolar electrode was utilized and the noise level was optimally reduced to 2 to 2.5 microV by a combination ...

Temporal Noise Analysis of Charge-Domain Sampling Readout Circuits for CMOS Image Sensors
This paper presents a temporal noise analysis of charge-domain sampling readout circuits for Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors. In order to address the trade-off between the low input-referred noise and high dynamic range, a Gm-

Noise thermometry at ultra-low temperatures [PDF]
The options for primary thermometry at ultra-low temperatures are rather limited. In practice, most laboratories are using 195 Pt NMR thermometers in the microkelvin range. In recent years, current sensing direct current superconducting quantum interference devices (DC-SQUIDs) have enabled the use of noise ...
