Linearization of subthreshold low-noise amplifiers

2013 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS2013), 2013
This paper presents a subthreshold cascode low-noise amplifier (LNA) with inductive source degeneration and third-order linearity enhancement. The LNA architecture includes an inductor and a capacitor at the gate of the cascode transistor for partial cancellation of third-order distortion components.

Synthesis of a wideband low noise amplifier

Proceedings of the 16th ACM Great Lakes symposium on VLSI, 2006
Two generations of a wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) employing noise canceling principle have been synthesized. Thefirst generation design was fabricated in a 0.35 μm SiGe BiCMOS process. It has a measured peak S21 of 17 dB and noise figure less than 3 dB over a bandwidth of 2.6 GHz while consuming 32.5 mW of power from a 2.5 V supply.

Broadband noise and distortion cancelling low noise amplifier

2017 IEEE 60th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2017
In this paper, a new broadband low noise amplifier (LNA) is proposed. The LNA utilizes a composite NMOS/PMOS cross-coupled transistor pair and a difference amplifier to in-crease the linearity while reducing the noise figure. The introduced approach provides partial cancellation of distortion and noise generated by the input transistors, hence ...

A noise optimization technique for integrated low-noise amplifiers

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2002
Based on measured four-noise parameters and two-port noise theory, considerations for noise optimization of integrated low-noise amplifier (LNA) designs are presented. If arbitrary values of source impedance are allowed, optimal noise performance of the LNA is obtained by adjusting the source degeneration inductance.

Low noise amplifier design and low noise amplifiers for characterizing the low frequency noise of infrared detectors

1998 Conference on Optoelectronic and Microelectronic Materials and Devices. Proceedings (Cat. No.98EX140), 2002
The theory of input equivalent noise is detailed and applied to the design of low noise amplifiers suitable for high impedance (>100 M/spl Omega/) photovoltaic IR detectors and relatively low impedance (

MHEMT G-band low-noise amplifiers

2013 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (MTT), 2013
To improve the performance of G-band equipment for humidity sounding of the atmosphere, a high-gain and low-noise amplifier is needed. Here we describe and report the performance of several low-noise amplifier microchips intended for 183-GHz water vapor profiling application.

Low Noise Amplifier

2011
Ostensibly, one key component of any receiver chain is the low-noise amplifier (LNA) coming off the antennas. Since the signal at that point is comparatively weak, good gain and noise performance are necessary.

Low-noise amplifier for myoelectric measurements

Medical & Biological Engineering, 1973
At least two conclusions may be drawn from our experiences: (a) whereas manual analysis necessarily oversimplifies the picture of a circuit's operation, it is still a useful guide. (b) f.e.t.s. are a practical answer to the high-value, unbalanced source impedances and low signal levels found in biological phenomena.

Low Noise Low Power Amplifiers

2013
Various of noise sources in CMOS technology are introduced in this chapter, including KT/C noise, flicker noise, resistor and MOSFET’s thermal noise, etc. In order to decrease or even get rid of the noise especially the lower frequency noise, different kinds of low noise amplifiers are described. Then a design example is introduced.

Transistors as low-noise amplifiers

Proceedings of the IEE - Part B: Electronic and Communication Engineering, 1959
The noise properties of a transistor considered as a circuit element (physical origins of noise are not discussed) are outlined, and an equivalent circuit containing two correlated noise generators is described. A method of measuring the magnitudes of the two generators and their correlation coefficient is given, and the results of measurements of ...
