Study on the mechanism of hydrogen production by methane decomposition catalyzed by activated carbon loaded by carbon black for increasing defect sites

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
Under the background of the “dual carbon goal” era, hydrogen production from methane decomposition is considered to be a promising high-purity hydrogen production technology due to no CO2 emissions.

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Numerical Study on the Aerodynamic Performance and Noise of Composite Bionic Airfoils

open access: yesFluids
Bionic airfoils are an effective method to improve aerodynamic performance and reduce the noise of wind turbine blades. To explore the impact of the lower surface of bird wing airfoils on the aerodynamic performance and noise of blades, this study ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Mechanistic exploration of non-thermal plasma-enhanced Cu-catalyzed CO2 hydrogenation to methanol

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Combining CO2 and green hydrogen to produce methanol can simultaneously realize CO2 conversion and green hydrogen storage. Methanol can be used as a green low-carbon fuel or industrial platform product for large-scale application, which is of great ...

Low-dose ionizing radiation alleviates Aβ42-induced cell death via regulating AKT and p38 pathways in Drosophila Alzheimer's disease models

open access: yesBiology Open, 2019
Ionizing radiation is widely used in medicine and is valuable in both the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. However, its health effects are ambiguous.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Insight into the Impact of Blade Perforation on the Aerodynamics and Acoustics of a Two-Stage Variable-Pitch Axial Fan

open access: yesEnergies
For a two-stage variable-pitch axial fan, a perforation design in first-stage rotor blades was proposed to improve aerodynamic performance and reduce acoustic noise.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
