Trading off reliability and power-consumption in ultra-low power systems

Proceedings International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design, 2003
Critical systems like pace-makers, defibrillators, wearable computers and other electronic gadgets have to be designed not only for reliability but also for ultra-low power consumption due to limited battery life. This paper explores architecture, logic and circuit level approaches to this tradeoff.

PABC: Power-Aware Buffer Cache Management for Low Power Consumption

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 2007
Power consumed by memory systems becomes a serious issue as the size of the memory installed increases. With various low power modes that can be applied to each memory unit, the operating system can reduce the number of active memory units by collocating active pages onto a few memory units.

Power Consumption Analysis of ESP32 and Arduino Nano for Low-Power Applications

2025 9th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Smart Technologies (ISAS)
This study experimentally examined the energy usage of the ESP32 and Arduino Nano microcontroller boards in active and deep sleep (power-down) modes. Both boards were powered by a continuous 5 V voltage, and current measurements were obtained directly using a multimeter. The experimental results indicated that the ESP32 board consumed 45.5 mA in active
