The Genesis of Low Pressure Hydrocephalus

Neurocritical Care, 2011
Low pressure hydrocephalus (LPH) is an uncommon entity. Recognition of this treatable condition is important when clinicians are faced with the paradox of symptomatic hydrocephalus despite low intracranial pressures (ICP). Its etiology remains enigmatic. We identified patients with LPH from the prospective, inpatient neuro-intensive care database over a

Low-pressure detachment nanolithography

Nanotechnology, 2006
A simple, one-step method is developed to fabricate various nanostructures such as nanoholes and nanolines based on the detachment of an organic polymer film in contact with a patterned polyurethane acrylate mould under a low physical pressure (1-2 bar) at ambient conditions.

Low-gas-pressure cable

Electrical Engineering, 1939
DURING the past several years the company with which the writer is associated has been conducting an extensive research and engineering study of the possibilities of high-voltage cable utilizing gas as a pressure medium. The purpose has been to develop a practical cable system of this type and determine its best field of usefulness from an engineering ...

Reignition of an Arc at Low Pressures

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1934
An investigation of factors influencing the reignition potential of an alternating current arc at low pressure is reported in this paper. The investigation was undertaken to determine if such data could throw more light on the transition from a glow discharge to an arc. The results are consistent with a theory proposed previously by one of the authors.

Desalination at low temperatures and low pressures

Desalination, 2009
Abstract A low-temperature phase-change desalination process configuration is presented in this study. This configuration enables saline water to be evaporated at near-ambient temperatures under near-vacuum level pressures created by the barometric head without any mechanical energy input. Thermodynamic advantages and benefits of lowtemperature phase-

The Development of a New Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor for Low Pressures

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2018
This paper presents the design methodology and fabrication process of a novel piezoresistive pressure sensor with a combined cross-beam membrane and peninsula (CBMP) diaphragm structure for micropressure measurements. The sensor is then analyzed through various experiments.

Nasalance and Nasality in Low Pressure and High Pressure Speech

The Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal, 1998
Objective This study compared nasalance measures and nasality ratings in low pressure (LP) and high pressure (HP) speech. Subjects The subjects for this study were 25 children ranging in age from 5 to 13 years. Twenty of the subjects were patients followed by a craniofacial team, and five had no history of communication disorder.

PRESSURE WAVES IN SO-CALLED LOW-PRESSURE HYDROCEPHALUS

The Lancet, 1972
Abstract Episodes of raised intracranial pressure were discovered in patients who were thought to have low-pressure hydrocephalus. Possibly these episodes identify patients in whom continuing deterioration may be expected, and the long-term measurement of intracranial pressure in such patients may be valuable in deciding which of them should have a ...
