Particle Deposition on a Truncated Cylinder in a Supersonic Flow at Low Pressure [PDF]

open access: yesAerosol Science and Technology, 1994
Deposition of particles, suspended in supersonic gas flows, onto the impaction plane of a truncated cylinder in low pressure has been studied numerically. The analysis of axisymmetric compressible Navier-Stokes equations was carried out, for a gas phase, by using the lower-upper symmetric Gauss-Seidel (LU-SGS) scheme.

PROPORTIONAL VELOCITY CONTROL OF LOW-PRESSURE WATER HYDRAULIC CYLINDER DRIVE

open access: yesProceedings of the JFPS International Symposium on Fluid Power, 2002
This paper studies velocity control of a low-pressure water hydraulic cylinder drive. Two different systems are used, one with a proportional 4/3-way directional control valve and one with a proportional flow control valve. Experimental results with the proportional directional valve show that good control results can be achieved with closed-loop ...

Research on a kind of self-compensation variable-clearance sealing hydraulic cylinder with a thin shell structure

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Hydraulic cylinder is the most typical hydraulic actuator. The traditional sealing ring used in hydraulic cylinder produces the friction which greatly affects the high speed performance of the hydraulic cylinder.

Comparison of a grid-based CFD method and vortex dynamics predictions of low Reynolds number cylinder flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Computational fluid dynamics models range from the finite difference type grid-based method to the Lagrangian style vortex cloud simulation technique for solving the Navier-Stokes equations.

A cryocooler for applications requiring low magnetic and mechanical interference [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
A very low-power, low-interference Stirling cryocooler is being developed based on principles and techniques described in several previous publications over the last four years. It differs in several important details from those built previously. It uses

Combined effects of pressure and Ru substitution on BaFe2As2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The ab-plane resistivity of Ba(Fe1-xRux)2As2 (x = 0.00, 0.09, 0.16, 0.21, and 0.28) was studied under nearly hydrostatic pressures, up to 7.4 GPa, in order to explore the T-P phase diagram and to compare the combined effects of iso-electronic Ru ...

Computation of unsteady momentum and heat transfer from a fixed circular cylinder in laminar flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper presents a finite difference solution for 2D, low Reynolds number, unsteady flow around and heat transfer from a stationary circular cylinder placed in a uniform flow. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible and of constant property.
