Intruder sensor using low probability of interception SS-FH signals

Proceedings IEEE 33rd Annual 1999 International Carnahan Conference on Security Technology (Cat. No.99CH36303), 2003
A new signal modulation format used for an intruder sensor showing a very low probability of detection and interception is proposed. The sensor working principle is based on the application of a spread spectrum-frequency hopping technique. The surveillance is done by radiating very low power microwave signals during very short pulses spread randomly ...

A study on the feasibility of low probability of intercept sonar

2009 43rd Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2009
We explore the feasibility of low probability of intercept for sonar signals. Using a noise-like active sonar signal, the transmitter (platform) employs a matched filter for echo detection while the target is assumed to use an energy detector. Decision statistic distributions are developed at both the platform and target.

The analysis and design of modern Low Probability of Intercept radar

2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559), 2002
In the modern battlefield, radar faces more and more serious threats from ECM and ARM, etc. Only the Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) radar can survive. In this paper, the principle of LPI radar is introduced first. Then the effects of radar parameters on LPI performance are discussed in detail.

Combat Cueing: Geolocation System for Low Probability of Intercept Signals

2000
Abstract : Raytheon Company has successfully developed and demonstrated a revolutionary new signals exploitation system that weighs 10 times less than conventional technology. Developed under DARPA's Smart Module program, Combat Cueing is a human-portable system that provides radio frequency (RF) situational awareness to small military units, allowing ...

Adaptive radar jamming waveform design based on low probability of intercept

2015 IEEE China Summit and International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP), 2015
Low probability of intercept (LPI) has currently become a central issue in modern electronic warfare. In this paper, the problem of task-dependent adaptive radar jamming waveform design based on LPI is investigated. Firstly, the achievable signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and mutual information (MI) are derived to evaluate the target ...
